I can’t exactly blame people for saying that our man Teruteru looks ugly. There’s a lot of fatphobia, queerphobia, Japanese colorism and racism built into the character designs of the Danganronpa cast (played for laughs of course) that you kind of have to squint through to get to the real heart of some characters.
That said, yeah people absolutely sleep on great characters like Hifumi and Teruteru and Nekomaru because they have deliberately unappealing designs, and it sucks.
