There is no argument you can make against problematic relationships in fiction that cannot also be made against horror media.
Horror media gets it all the time actually. Particularly splatterpunk and extreme horror. People are very judgmental of those, accusing both authors and readers of the worst kind of vile things.
This is absolutely true in the mainstream. Pundits and conservatives have a tendency to attack horror and gore media, and to proclaim its evil influence on people.
However, in fannish circles online, generally horror and violent media are uncriticized, while a huge amount of emphasis is put on attacking sexual material that they consider obscene or disgusting.
