profiction-wonderduo:

I wish I would’ve been old enough to be on the internet during the time being pro-fiction was normal. It wasn’t even A THING back then because nobody cared what anybody else was into.

There are better examples but I remember being in the Five Nights at Freddy’s fandom when I was in middle school. So many people simped for Purple Guy. Some would comment about how Purple Guy is a killer but it wasn’t a widespread thing. Most didn’t care. Now, even if it isn’t the kind of thing someone would get put on a call out post for there are probably a lot of Antis in the Five Night’s at Freddy’s fandom nowadays. Y’know, a game with child murder, possession, ect

How you can be an Anti and then like Five Night’s at Freddy’s, i’m not sure. Then by extension, anime like Danganronpa and My Hero Academia. If an Anti starts playing a game or watching a show with a bunch of “problematic” themes in it and they enjoy it, they don’t get to look at us like we’re freaks. Whether they like it or not Pro-Fiction was the default belief of early fandom. They don’t get to come in here and throw temper tantrums or call people out for things that make them personally uncomfortable, ESPECIALLY when they’re in fandoms where Dark Content is commonplace.

Posts like this make me so sad about how hostile fandom has become in the last few years.

Thank you to anyone who is helping make fandom a kinder and more tolerant place, and who refuses to play into moral outrage bs.
