“”The media you consume and support will have an effect on you in real life.” why is this /only/ said abt people being worse and never abt people being better??? if that was true then there wouldn’t be a group of superhero fans that are racist, homophobic and hissing abt wokeness. if this was true then my little pony and steven universe wouldn’t have fans that are raging bullies. if this was true, people would be better! if this was true, people would be less homophobic, transphobic and misogynistic, people would be less islamophobic and anti-semitic! if this was true, people would be better!!!!
(Most of) these people don’t realize that what they’re parroting is the secularized version of the religious argument that evil media is full of demons that will corrupt you.
