It’s not that I mind minors in fandom. Really, I don’t.
It’s just when they ignore the multiple warnings that I put on things or lie about their age to see things they shouldn’t that pisses me off. Especially when they throw a screaming hissy fit about the dove really being dead or start telling anyone over the age of 18 that they need to get out of fandom.
Darling, we built this place. And if you don’t have the reading comprehension to understand that trigger warnings are there for a reason, maybe you need to get off the internet and go do your homework.
Can I further add that I dislike this new wave of fandom culture that younger teens brought with them when they joined fandom?
I dislike “n0nc0n” and “unalive.” I dislike that cyberstalking has become the expectation to participate in fandom. I dislike the casual disregard for privacy. I dislike how sensitive everyone is to content they dislike and makes them uncomfortable. I dislike that nobody takes the time to lurk anymore.
When I say I dislike the teens in fandom, I’m referring to these cultures and attitudes. My teen mutuals are cool, else I’d have blocked them already.
