hm… now that i’m here, there’s something that i wanna talk abt
there’s this thing where it’s “proshippers who harrass antis aren’t actually proshippers” and that… leaves a bad taste in my mouth. proshipper is what they chose and what their harassment victims know them as so…
the “they aren’t actually proshippers” thing doesn’t help /anyone/, it doesn’t help other proshippers bc it sounds like washing one’s hands of it and it doesn’t help the people they’ve harassed. the people who did that are proshippers bc they /call/ themselves that, why can’t we stay calling them proshippers? it’s unintentional, i know it is, but it still feels like it’s brushing off the people who’ve been hurt
Yeah it’s the “no true Scotsman” fallacy.
One has to accept that every group is going to have some assholes in it.
