I think autism has made me oblivious to a lot of social pressure that a lot of AFAB people experience. Stuff like beauty standards, make up, catcalling, shaving, people objectifying me. I just never really had any of that, maybe they were just more put off by how weird I was to worry whether I was pretty or not.
Neurdivergent, mentally ill, and physically disabled people often experience involuntary desexualization by society. It’s ableism in action.
