( No Title )
i swear, seeing people hate on fanfic because it’s not their taste makes me want to pull my hair out.
the author wrote it and enjoyed it. your feelings don’t fucking matter in the situation. don’t like? hop the fuck off it. you like it? leave a comment, kudo/vote/like/reblog it.
if someone didn’t ask for criticism, don’t give it. and if they do, structure it and make sure it’s something actually good and not a “i didn’t like it”.
also, the author is not obligated to listen to it. don’t expect them to fall on their knees and thank you and put it into their writing. it’s still their writing, you’re just the visitor, someone popping in to view it. if you don’t like what you see, leave.
if someone invites you to their house, you don’t just go in and say you don’t like it and try to change it, shit all over the house, do you? you don’t harass them do you? you don’t go back if you don’t like it, right? then don’t go into someone’s writing, something they put a lot of effort in, and try to change it. don’t keep coming back and leaving nasty things for the person to see.
literally just checked this authors profile and they said they’re leaving and deleting all their stuff because of things like this. They literally cried explaining how they just wanted to create stories and post them without getting absolutely shit on by people because their writing style and content is not what everyone wants but it’s what they, the author, liked.
people in fandoms worry me. how is one supposed to write and improve if they get bullied and harassed before they even have the chance to grow????
you’re all for being yourself and being weird until someone is themselves and being weird – but it’s just not your “weird” (a.k.a norms created by society) for you.
