I’ve had the awkward interaction of talking to a metamor and had them express violent thoughts toward people who like loli. I worry about ever having my living situation revoked if someone finds out what kind of fanfiction I write, so it’s a safety issue.

My personal advice is to make that part of the “getting to know you” early dating stage of the relationship.
It’s easy, casual and normal to talk about what type of fiction a person likes and dislike, and what sort of attitude they have toward censorship, and toward fandom.
