Thank you! That’s what I’ve been saying, like fandom is literally taking a bunch of stuff the creator never said or maybe even likes and doing whatever you want with it, like we all know that like 99% of the ships/characters/etc we like aren’t actually gay/eldritch abominations/whatever you like, but we draw them that way cause it’s FUN! I don’t get why when it’s the Welc0me H0me guy or any of the others it’s suddenly not ok when we’ve made tons of content for millions of fandoms that the creator probably wouldn’t like or care for, like you think for example you think Scott cawthon who is a known Christian likes seeing tons of fanart of furry robo porn? The answer is ofcourse a resounding NO, but we do it anyway and never cared if he or anyone else did because we make these arts/fics for OURSELVES not anyone else (well maybe except other fans of said material) The creator isn’t meant to see them anyway and if they do it’s not actually that big a deal, like at worst they might be a bit annoyed or upset for like 1 afternoon, people act like “disrespecting” the artist is gonna make them explode or something and it’s ridiculous I’ve noticed in the WH fandom it’s because like some police state where someone posted a nsfw fic on Ao3 and like a million people jumped on them to “correct their behaviour” and tell them the creator doesn’t like it and one of them apparently went and snitched on them like clown is their mom who needs to ground them or something At the end of the day these kinds of things just cause animosity in fandoms and create a bunch of people who have control issues trying to tell everyone what they can and can’t do and it sucks the fun out it sooo fast Anyway thank you for your time!
