This whole situation reminds me of the Mandela catalog issue a few months ago with Kister, iirc someone wrote nsfw fics about him on ao3 and he saw it and there was huge drama around it. I’m just like, can these new creators please stop interacting with their fandoms. Like I know they’re the victim and I’m trying not to be rude, but also all this can be avoided if creators on args either remain anonymous or just ignore us fans. I’m fine being ignored or never knowing who made it as long at the creators are happy and doing their work 😭
Social media breaking down the boundary between creators and fandom has only ever turned out to be a bad thing.
I’m staring pointedly at the animator the Steven Universe fandom harassed and hounded into deleting social media and quitting the show.
