I recently watched a video about this one side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild where a 50 year old Zora girl and a middle aged Hylian man enter a romantic relationship, and the guy making the video was like “this is so fucked up, the man is a pedophile taking advantage of this poor little girl, the Japanese version was not so explicit about this being a romantic relationship, the translators are sick fucks!” While discounting that the Zora child initiated the relationship and is still, in fact, older than him, and while totally ignoring that a) we don’t know the developmental psychology of Zoras, b) we don’t know how this kind of relationship is interpreted in the culture of Hyrule as a whole, c) there is no indication that their relationship is sexual at all, and d) IT’S A FUCKING VIDEO GAME WITH FICTIONAL RACES.
