Like, I honestly hope these small creators know that if they’re known for going into fandom and squicking themselves out on works about their stuff they are opening themselves up to lawsuits in the future if their stuff goes big. Literally as a creator you *must* stay out of fandom. You *cannot* use ideas you have seen in fiction relating to your works without the possibility of lawsuit. Your only recourse is to take a hard stance to *never* engage with the fandom surrounding your works, lest it come to bite you later.
Social media’s breakdown of the barrier between creators and fandom has universally been a bad thing for both creators and fanom.
