It always amuses me to see people who, even politely and with good intentions, declare they would have AO3 remove some form of content or accuse it of things like misattributing funds, because it only shows they fundamentally do not understand the Archive at all, nor its purpose. “Oh I do, I just disagree with X!” Which is fine. But the nature of the Archive means what you disagree with ahs no standing input or impact on the Archive. You can dislike X as much as you want but the moment you voice that it should be removed, you’re deviating from the very existential purpose of AO3. Its like going to a museum and demanding they cover up all the genitals on the statues and paintings.
It is exactly like going to a museum– or a library– and making demands of it.
