You wanna know what I love about old fandoms like Resident Evil? As someone who got into Resident Evil when Resident Evil 5 was the newest installment and the first RE game I played, I love seeing old fans who have played the original Resident Evil trilogy interact with new fans, because I just love seeing new fans and old fans gush over their love of a specific game or character. I’m a Leon fangirl, and I love running into old fans who were also gushing over Leon as it makes me super duper happy. It almost makes me forget about the toxic side of the RE fandom because I always think about the positive memories of this franchise and the positive interactions I’ve witnessed or been a part of. Sometimes you gotta fight off the dark side of fandom with the light side of fandom, and that’s exactly what I like to do.
Yes! it’s one of the best things about being in a fandom that has been running so long and has a consistent storyline.
A while ago we even went looking on the internet archive and other old web places to see 2000s era fansites for the oldest games!
