same as other anon, I can’t back on Tumblr after having been absent for years (we didn’t have shipping discourse in 2015 lmao) and was like “whatever shipping discourse is, it sounds fucking stupid” and then the more anti posts I saw the more I realized that they’re specifically the ones who have the most asinine takes and harass people for literally just vibing. like when one side is “I think people should be allowed to write whatever fiction they like” and the other side is “certain types of fiction are/should be illegal” it’s not hard to pick sides even if I don’t write any “problematic” ships and don’t even really write or read that much fanfic generally. it’s just such a no-brainer argument.
This was similar to the experience I had when getting back into fandom on tumblr. It was like, whoa, why are people suddenly being assholes about this stuff?
