Saw this comment about these 2 dudes, “I like their friendship, let’s not destroy it.” Destroy it? I think them being a BL would make sense and end up being a lot better. ♡
The idea that romantic relationships somehow ‘destroy’ friendships is upsetting to me personally.
My romantic relationships are built on friendship. Their romantic dimension does not negate or ‘destroy’ their dimension of friendship.
I understand that that’s not the case for all people, and I certainly don’t hold romantic relationships above platonic ones, nor do I shame people for only wanting platonic relationships.
But let’s also not shame people for wanting to add romance to a fictional relationship either.
