I don’t recall if you’ve said it before, but if Disney’s adaptations are so bad, what are your favorite adaptations of the Peter and Wendy story? Or do you prefer the original Peter and Wendy and The Little White Bird over any adaptation?
Our favorites are:
Peter & Wendy, (which, for those who don’t know) is Barrie’s written adaptation of the original stage play, plus the extra material in Hook at Eton, and When Wendy Grew up, An Afterthought
Peter Pan with Mary Martin, which is the original filmed version of the musical
Peter Pan (2003) with Jason Isaacs, which in our opinion is the single best adaptation, and what we would show someone who knew nothing about Peter Pan to introduce them to it
Hook (1991) which is a semi-sequel to the stage play
Capt. Hook: the Adventures of a Notorious Youth by JV Hart, which is a prequel origin story for Hook based on Barrie’s Hook at Eton, and written by the script writer for Hook 1991
and
Fox’s Peter Pan and the Pirates, which is a cartoon series from the early 1990s.
we have definitely mentioned these before, but we never get tired of talking about it! <3
