We’ve come to realize that part of the reason we dislike some antis arguments so much is because it almost mirrors aphobia.
“If you enjoy something in fiction, you’re conditioning yourself to enjoy it/obviously would enjoy it in real life.” is often used to justify being antiship, but there are aroace people who like reading romance or smut, and yet are as far as sex/romance repulsed IRL.
Fiction is not going to magically make you enjoy something in real life.
Fiction can help you realize and understand what you enjoy. But it doesn’t hit you with a beam that suddenly gives you real, tangible desires.i mean i’m gonna be real after my experiences i think anti rhetoric is meant to be aphobic adjacent b design. even a lot of antis who claim to be inclus keep supporting the “it’s pedophilia for minors to id as ace” mentality. and also keep acting like they have no choice but to platform and blindly trust callouts from certain exclus.
sounds like pretty good proof to say that anti rhetoric is in favor of exclus culture by default to me.
