People seem to think that “proship” means you are fine with all ships, and there aren’t ships that squick, trigger or bother you.

That’s not true at all.

We have LOTS of ships that bother us, and we block them. We won’t say what the specific ships are here, but we will share the reasons that they bother us, for demonstrative purposes.

Ship A: A canon ship that is toxic, abusive and uncomfortable.

Ship B: A shipcest ship that is toxic, abusive and uncomfortable.

Ship C: the fan preferred slash ship, the fandom of which is constantly nasty and cruel to anyone who ships the het ship with the character.

Ship D: a fan prefered het ship that gets in the way of one of our self ships and makes us extremely jealous and angry.

My NOTPS:

A: Ship antis fucking despise, for opposite reasons. Why make a relationship be problematic when every interaction they have is fucking vanilla.

B: These two characters talking expose a serious flaw in the writing. “I don’t think she’s fragile!” The narrative does, next. Could have been good if author had +2 in self awareness.

C: Ruined for me by a toxic friend.

I have 2:

A: Fans of this ship drive me up the wall, I am also kin of one of the characters and the ship gives me big icks

B: The fans are so annoying and will send you hell for shipping this other shop that I ship

I have a few:

1. Associate that ship with a bad time/toxic fandom or toxic people and want NO part in it

2. Fans bitch about one half of the pair for “getting in the way of their precious gay ship!” for just existing and/or never being mentioned until they showed up all of a sudden because bad writing

3. Used to like it but people are toxic as fuck about it in some way so nope!

4. Like the idea of a pairing but a fandom is so toxic about even the status quo pairings that you just don’t want to even deal with it
