Here’s the thing we need you to understand.
We–Sinister System– are not proship/anti censorship because we really, really love the kind of content that gets banned and censored by fancops or otherwise.
The “worst” we are into is age gaps and consensual shipcest. We pretty much completely avoid noncon, and ships with very young characters make us really uncomfortable except for in very special circumstances.
The only reason we got into the “proship” side of tumblr was because we got into self shipping and saw that people were being weird about adults with F/Os that were teenage characters.
We have the privilege to stop caring about this issue tomorrow, and for it to basically go away forever. For us not to get our blog terminated, or to get constant anon hate calling us a pedophile. To go back to a normal, fun, fandom experience.
What we care about is artistic freedom.
What we care about is freedom of fiction.
Because we can see the fucking slippery slope in action as it eats away at our freedom.
Because we were there when fanfiction.net purged the NSFW tagged fics– and suddenly untagged porn was unavoidable.
Because we were there when livejournal banned all the fanfic and rp journals about underage characters– and also banned CSA victim support groups.
Whether or not I can post art of “characters with child like proportions” on a website without getting banned or not is irrelevant to us personally.
What we care about is the fucking principle of the matter. blackheartxbiohazards
