maybe a lil controversial with this one but i feel like you’ll get it: people who get up in arms about canonical gender/sexuality are so missing out, i LOVE to explore a character learning new things about themselves through specific connections or circumstances. maybe im not as much of a girl as i thought i was. maybe i’m gay but $20 is $20. maybe the worlds of platonic and romantic can be blurry as hell while we’re stuck in this fucked up situation. do you feel me?
Fandom is your playground and canon can be freely disregarded whenever you want.
I love using fictional characters to explore all kinds of things, gender and romance, and sexuality, and pain and torture and hate, and mental illness and all the blurry lines between all of those.
People in fandom who are ‘canon purists’ and only like to think about or talk about what they believe is actually in or will be in the narrative confuse me, and I feel like they’re limiting themselves.
