💬 You don’t have to conform your fiction writing to a specific style.
“said tags” are the words one uses for describing a character speaking dialogue.
“he said”, “he replied”, “he joked” “he intoned” etc etc.
Some people are of the opinion that said tags should always be “said” or “replied” and never anything else.
