Most likely, you’re either looking at a ship that just doesn’t tag heavily, so trying to filter it for tropes or whatever legitimately brings up zero results, or else you’re adding some contradictory things into your filters and forgetting that you really want two separate searches for ship + thing A and ship + thing B.

For example, this happened to somebody in the past with Harry/Ginny from HP, and the actual issue was that they’d radically misestimated what websites the HG shippers had hung out on and how likely they were to be on AO3 at all. They were assuming the presence of a body of fic that did not exist.
