I don’t think you understand this. Either that, or I have received bad information, and would like to be corrected.
They’re not censoring pro-Palestinian messages by their users, or in fanfics– I would not be supporting them if they were!
They are– to the best of my knowledge– requiring that a staff member/moderator not use their official AO3 moderator outreach to spread political (in this case pro-palestine) messages.
I have confirmed that my initial understanding of the situation is correct.
The issue at hand is that an official OTW volunteer was using a specific phrase in their official OTW slack chat status that some other users of the chat found triggering.
The volunteer was told that it was the specific phrase that was the issue, and that they were welcome to show their support in another way.
There is nothing I could find about AO3 or the OTW banning people or taking down fanworks for users support of Palestine.
