Another 3k written today. At this pace I should have 6 or 7 days of writing left before the draft is finished. 🤞🤞🤞🤞

🔫 How. How. Literally how. Literally how do you do that.

💞💌😻 😉

Well, if you want to *actually* know my method–

I outline HEAVILY. I do an initial outline at the beginning, and then more, smaller outlines going forward when things start to change and take shape as I’m writing.

I write in 15 minute sprints. Set a timer for 15 minutes and write with NO distractions. Nothing but putting words on the page as fast as possible. With this method I get between 600-800 words per 15 minutes, since thanks to the outline, I don’t have to think about what I’m writing next.

Between sprints I let myself check tumblr for a few minutes, get up and stretch, do a few chores. Then I come back and do another 15 minutes.

4 sprints of 15 minutes each usually gives me about 3000 words.

Ohhhh pomodoros! Thanks for the tips, lol. I guess I was mainly thinking of motivation, because like. Even sitting down to write and work on a project anymore feels like a monumental task.

Yeah, that’s definitely the hardest part, is just sitting down to DO it.

What has worked for me is just forcing myself to write ONE LINE. Often just breaking that barrier of going to do it/not going to do it means that once I’ve put something– anything down, well, then I’m writing and I might as well keep going!
