trying to get out of having to write an actual duel monsters match in my own fanfiction
Just in case it’s helpful, I’ve taken a few screenshots to show you what my duel script looked like. If you end up scripting the duel, I recommend writing the stats for the monster cards every time they show up, or you will forget what they are and you end up with twenty tabs from the ygo card database open at once lol.

The special hell of a four-way duel
Oh lordy, a four-way duel is where I draw the line. When I rewrote Battle City, I just skipped that absurd duel and made everyone draw another lottery for the matchups
Yeah, sometimes you just gotta do what you need to for your own sanity. Sadly, the four-way duel was essential to the fic’s direction as Kaiba needed to consciously make different choices from his canon self. But never again.
