just a tiny little detail I found today that you might be aware of: when you go to the game models in re4r and play the voice lines on Ashley and Leon romantic costumes they both say things they say to each-other in-game!! Ashley says “we’re a team, right?” and Leon says “I’m gonna get you home safe”
Deadass I opened the game and recorded this just so that people can see it.
“bUt LeOn AnD aShLeY aReN’t MeAnT tO bE rEaD aS rOmAnTiC”
no they just have matching costumes called “Romantic” and the voice lines in the model viewer for said costumes are both directed at each other, and that’s on top of the plot being structured like a romance novel and the fairy tale allegory and the Romeo & Juliet imagery and all of the other meta evidence of them being romance-coded.
