Some realizations that I had about outlining that helped me write:

💫 You don’t actually have to outline the entire story from start to finish.

💫 You can ‘outline’ just by noting down thoughts, elements, scenes or ideas that stand out to you that you don’t want to forget.

💫 When you sit down to do a section of writing, you can take a minute to outline the next three or so things you want to happen in the story.

💫 Even just noting down your intentions for the next scene or two can make it way easier to start writing, instead of facing the blank page not knowing where you’ll go next.

💫 Outlining doesn’t have to be overwhelming or restricting.

💫 Making a few simple notes about your intentions can help with even really short stories.

💫 It’s always okay to deviate from your outline, and then note down your new ideas that flow from that deviation.
