Chris “I’m so normal about him” Redfield naming his gun Albert.
Replaying RE7 and I still can’t believe they legitimately included that in the game.

Oh man, okay. Not to… uh, not to info dump about… guns… from Resident Evil. (Of all the things I could store in my limited brain space…) But. It’s not either of these things. Chris didn’t name the gun, and it’s not Wesker’s actual gun, either.
Originally the samurai edge was made for STARS, there was a standard version, and certain members got their own custom models – Chris, Jill, Barry, and Wesker.
Wesker still has that specific samurai edge in RE5. He busts it out on the plane near the end of the game to shoot Chris with. But it went down with the plane, so that specific gun is lost or destroyed.
The gun from RE7 was *designed* mostly by Wesker specifically to fight BOWs. But he died before they were made. Blue Umbrella eventually picks up the design and produces the first model of it. Later another model which holds more ammo is made. They distribute them to the BSAA, among other groups.
Chris gets his, presumably, shortly before RE7 when he goes to help Umbrella. Ethan also gets one. So there’s a whole line of guns out there with that name, Chris didn’t actually name his, that’s just what they’re called.
Oh this is really interesting! Can I ask where it’s sourced from?
