teaser thesis statement for my upcoming Persona timeline exploration:
While at first it appears on the surface that the first two persona games are disconnected from the following three, there is in actuality only one Persona game universe with a timeline that includes all 5 games and major spin-offs. Careful analysis suggests that events resulting from the ending of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment precipitated a major shift in the fundamental fabric of that universe, explaining the differences in how the Velvet Room and personas work between entries 2 and 3.
