I want to be clear, I’m for shipping whatever you want. But I think if we’re going to evaluate the “healthiness” of any incest relationship, I ultimately think it really has more to do with the relationship between those particular characters and their histories together than pure genetic relation.I can see two non-biological siblings who grew up together and whose parents pitted them against each other more easily becoming an “abusive” relationship than like…. a lot of the shit that fandom tends to like to freak out about. Like, think about the ridiculous amount of discourse there was over Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. Yes, she was his aunt, but 1. at the time they got together they didn’t know this, 2. they did not grow up together, 3. they seem to view each other as equals. Even aside from the level of relation, to act like this is the exact same thing as like, Jaime/Cersei or Craster raping his daughters (which are also two very different relationships!) just because they’re both technically “incest” is bizarre to me.

It’s because it’s about disgust, not harm prevention.
