My advice for you is to explore and discover how other authors and creators have handled these dynamics in the past.
✏️ Seek out fiction that contains the dynamics that you want to portray, and analyze your reaction to it.
✏️ What parts of the relationship dynamic did these creators portray that are things that you’d like to bring to your writing?
✏️ What parts of the dynamic did they avoid or disregard that you think would be interesting to use in your own work?
✏️ What parts did they portray that you’d prefer to leave out of yours?
✏️ How did the character dynamic play into the larger themes of the work of fiction that they were in and how can you create a work of fiction where this sort of taboo dynamic also resonates with the themes?
Don’t be afraid to have fun and explore dark themes the same way you would in any other type of fiction.
