Man some people *really* can’t handle the simple fact that “author chose not to warn” aka “may or may not contain peanuts” is a valid warning.
I once wrote a fic that was meant to be adult suspense/horrer, which is one of the genres that actually benefits from the sense of not knowing how it’s going to end. I wanted to give people the option to be spoiler free, so I combined “chose not to warn” with a list of the precise content warnings at the end of the fic and a very clear message / hyperlink to that list as well as clear warnings that the story would be dark, and I still had someone grumbling in my comments about the fact that I used the choose not to warn tag.
