jfhsjfs you guys and your amazing partner system have been feeding me so muuuuch good food thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU holy hecc I can’t wait to read chapter five of My Sisters Keeper ;3; you all have me SO invested and I WILL be reading more from the collection as well!!Which leads me into this: Is it okay to ask questions about Griff? o: I’d love to know more about them and if possible, how she and Naga met! Was there a big adventure the two had? How did they bond so well? Is there by chance a ref image of them? (May or may not be tempted to do fanart here jfhsfjshfjs)
ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ Thank you so much?? Honestly we never really expected anyone to be particularly invested in our slayers material so the fact that you’re really into it is such a nice surprise, it’s honestly kind of overwhelming! (in a good way). <333
You can ask about Griff but wow I am flustered (happily) that you would! This OC has been around since we were about 14 years old so I live with the belief that no one will ever care about her cause she’s cringe and annoying 🤣😅
Naga and Griff met around the time of Slayers, when Lina and Naga had parted ways and Lina ran into Gourry. I think I’d like to save the specifics of their first meeting for an actual fic if you’re really interested in it ^^;;;
But yes they did have a big adventure! During the time that Rezo was chasing Lina for the orihalcon statue, Griff and Naga were being duped by Sherra into freeing her sword/partner from a sealed temple. XD That’s when they met Sylphiel and Zangulus as well.
Naga and Griff definitely ended up bonding in an ‘opposites attract’ sort of way because Griff is a lot of things that Naga isn’t. Naga is loud and confidence and showy and kind of a party animal. And Griff is shy and thoughtful, and grumpy and a likes the quiet.
But they both have a love of chaos and an appreciation for the strange and things that society has pushed aside, so they cherish one another, and make up for each others flaws. Griff helps Naga strategize and stay on task, and Naga helps Griff open up and gain confidence.
The broad strokes of Griff’s backstory are that she was the daughter of an innkeeper at an out of the way inn in the woods who had magical potential and felt alienated from her parents and humanity in general. Xelloss started ‘mentoring’ her, teaching her dark magic in secret, and fostering her interest in mazoku. She ran away at a young age and joined a small mercenary army as their wizard to hone her skills, all the while working on a tome she calls ‘the grimoire’ which she intends to be a sort of pokdex of mazoku.
Griff doesn’t really have a super fixed design, or a lot of art, but here’s what I do have….
If you ended up drawing her I think I might actually pass out from surprise and happiness.
