Your F/O who is hated or generally bashed in their source material/fandom is forever amazed at your strength to wade through the fog and see them in a different light. Perhaps they did something deserving of it, or not- it doesn’t matter to you. You saw them and you KNEW that they were someone worth loving in whatever way you do.
In some way, you’re reminding them to love themselves, through the love you give them.
