Absolutely happy to clarify!

dubcon:

  • character has been coerced into reluctantly agreeing to sex
  • character is being/has been seduced
  • character hasn’t said yes or no to sex but expresses reluctance
  • character is drunk
  • character has verbally rejected a sexual advance, but continued to physically participate.
  • character has verbally consented to sex but the narration from their point of view tells us they don’t actually want to be having sex
  • character is having sex for manipulative reasons that aren’t about whether they enjoy it or not
  • character is having sex under false pretenses (believes the other character is someone else, etc)

extreme dubcon:

  • character is technically being sexually assaulted, but the narration from the assaulted character’s point of view assures us they are actively enjoying the situation
  • it is unclear if a character is able to give meaningful consent in the situation
  • circumstances of the scenario are unclear as to whether or all parties have consented (such as in extremely short fiction like drabbles which lack context for a scene)
