You, and the pro-censorship fans like you are making a world where it is easier for real child molesters to hide, by normalizing accusations of pedophilia and creating a world where it is common place to be falsely accused of being a pedophile for no reason.
Abuse thrives in silence. When you make pedophilia a crime so disgusting and so taboo that you aren’t even allowed to write fiction about it, you create a world where real child molestation becomes a hush-hush topic, so now nobody can talk about it or learn the warning signs.
When you equate fictional crimes with real crimes, you are creating a world where talking about abuse is worse than actually abusing someone.
What you’re doing right now is something called performative activism. You attack people who write fanfiction, not because you want to actually go through the difficult process of protecting real children, but because you want to be able to attack someone and then pat yourself on the back for being such a good person when someone you know could be grooming a child right now and you would never know because they tell you they only read and write “pure” fiction.
