Karl was smoking– leaned against the opposite wall of the hallway– when Chris came out of Wesker’s room. Chris had asked him to be there– along with the armed guard who flanked the other side, but he hoped that Karl couldn’t see how rattled he was.
“How’d it go?” Karl asked.
“I need a smoke.”
“Hah. Yeah I bet. I’ll come with ya for one, if you don’t need me guarding the gates of the underworld here, Orpheus.”
