đź’« It’s okay to write fiction you would not want your grandmother to see.

đź’« Different stories are for different audiences.

đź’« You do not have to appeal to everyone.

đź’« Don’t sacrifice the story you want to tell for an imaginary audience or for imaginary critics.

I’ve always been weirded out by the concept of “post things that you’d want your grandmother to see”. Like if I was posting like my parents would see it I’D BEARLY UPLOAD.

My mom hated gay shipping and thought it was the weirdest shit. She told me “adults don’t ship” and said she was disappointed in me when I showed her my Steve/Bucky pin. She though kinky people were dangerous and assumed every single person on the internet wanted to r@pe me. She would have been so mad if she found out I have this account and we’re alive today.

Do not post like your family is watching because unless you got some real chill ass parents they gonna get on your case for shipping two male characters when they have great chemistry in canon.
