Raffles– seized suddenly with the audacity that only comes to a man after he has gotten away with a major felony– grabbed Bunny by his coat lapels and shoved him roughly against the moldering brick wall of the nearest alleyway.
Passers by averted their gaze, assuming a fight– and that was what the daring gentleman thief was counting on.
Bunny squirmed and scrabbled against him in genuine surprise, thus completing the illusion of the fist fight.
He grabbed Bunny by the throat and kissed him soundly in full view of anyone who might happen to look. But no one did.
