The assumption that YA literature needs must be lesser than other forms of writing just betrays a deep and profound lack of familiarity with the medium. Simple as. If that’s what you think, you’ve been reading shitty books and you’d have better results if you read good ones instead; that’s the long and short of it. Idk how to put it more plainer than that.
It’s like alphabet soup. Alphabet soup is a product invented to delight children, a task at which it excels, but children are in no way the only ppl to be delighted by orthography, and good soup is good soup.
