Hey I’m making a new blog in which I want to tag/use content warnings, and I’ve realized I don’t know a lot about them. And you use them quite thoroughly so I thought I’d ask if you have any tips(?) On what to look out for when tagging things?
Hmm, I don’t know that we’ll be much help but we’ll try…
Usually we tag things “#cw [the thing]”. That keeps it out of the tag for that thing though of course not out of searches.
Things we commonly content warn for are: blood, gore, (sometimes we make a distinction with illustrated blood/gore) choking, death, irl death, death mentions, politics and religious topics. Oh and for dubcon but only if its actually dubcon content. If its just a link to dubcon on AO3 we don’t bother.
Its also important to tag things that might trigger epilepsy with “flashing” rather than epilepsy.
