I’m so surprised that people actually do this?? Do they not look at the description to see if it’s for them?

It’s so strange to me. Like browsing for a book in a library; you check the summary and read the first page (the tags) before picking it. I’m honestly baffled. This gives the same energy as people thinking ao3 has an algorithm, as if the amount of hits a post has makes it objectively better.

I guess not lmao. It’s another way that fandom has turned into content mills, right? Like, don’t go looking for something that you think you will like, wait for a bunch of strangers to tell you if something is good.

It reminds me of people who ONLY read New York Times Best Sellers, even though that’s not a mark of quality. You can game that system and bad books make it to the list all the time. It’s practically meaningless!
