Most of my ships are in the ‘so obviously toxic they don’t need to be defended’ category, so I’ll go with Narumayo from Ace Attorney! It gets a disprortionate amount of hate for how vanilla it is.
Nick’s age does not give him any meaningful power over Maya, if anything the power inbalance is in Maya’s favor due to Mia asking him to look after her.
The real reason its hated is because its not Wrightworth, lets be real.
