- the cast initially point the finger at “the phantom” with the suggestion that only a man who couldn’t feel fear would leap out of a moving building to grab a rope ladder.
- the entire denouement of the case hinges on the fact that fear is absolutely definitely the only thing the Phantom does feel.

I am trying to figure out what to do with this, from both a watsonian and doylist POV now that I’ve seen it.
