What if I refused to let you go after you died.
What if your ghost and I became inseparable.
What if I never had to lose you, but I lost myself instead.

I mean, this specific case is a situation that I’m heavily leaning into more than the text itself does, but it’s borrowing themes and elements from elsewhere in the narrative.
Ace Attorney, is a story that requires 4-5 murders per game, and involves ghosts and spirit mediums and tortured people unable to escape their backstories and basically everyone is haunted by/haunting the narrative.
Absolutely every decision in the series is driven and motivated by grief, and there are literal actual ghosts hanging around making it impossible to heal. That’s just. The text of the games.
