the found family gets me bc like. family doesn’t just mean parents and siblings? my romantic partners ARE my found family. they are significantly more family to me than my blood. i would, in fact, like to make them OFFICIALLY my family, should poly marriage ever become an option. i feel like people forget that end of the dynamic.
Right? Like, people who get married are family too. People who spend their lives together romantically build a family together– whether that involves having children or not.
I hate when people reduce “found family” down to the conservative white protestant nuclear family– but this time not blood related.
