So did Wright deliberately pick Apollo for the trial in order to additionally ruin Kristoph’s protege to further punish him? Or did he just think Justice would be easy to manipulate. 🤔

My theory is that, as weird as it sounds, Apollo was the only lawyer under Kristoph in the Gavin & Co. Offices, as we don’t get any reports of more people being left unemployed after Smith vs Wright. Phoenix knew that, if he played his cards well enough, he would be able to frame Kristoph. However, he wouldn’t be able to defend himself if that were to happen (and it appears that in this universe there are no public defenders).

Enter Apollo here, Kristoph would be the co-counself as it is Apollo’s first criminal trial, then Phoenix could still frame Kristoph and still have a defense. Besides we know that Kristoph and Phoenix were acting as each other’s besties for 7 years and that Kristoph likes to flaunt a bit too much, it wouldn’t surprise me that the conversation of him getting a protégée that fanboys all over Phoenix’ past work didn’t happen at some point.

But this is all speculation with the info given to us in the game. The machinations of disbarred Phoenix’ mind are an enigma.

So very true. You give me some interesting thoughts to chew on.
