Imagine laying awake in bed in the morning with your villainous F/O there, still asleep. It’s the first morning since you’ve been together, and seeing them sleeping there next to you makes them look strangely human, and vulnerable.

You lay there thinking about all the things you had to do to be in this bed, right now. The morals you may have compromised. The people you may have betrayed.

Was it worth it?

Your F/O stirs in their sleep and puts their arm around you, pulling you closer.

It was worth it.

There’s a scene in my fic where my OC wakes in the night and looks at Apophis sleeping and thinks “how in the world has this 5500 year old alien, possibly the most dangerous enemy anyone on her world has ever had, ended up in bed with *me*?” Then she just shakes her head at the absurdity of it, and gladly snuggles back in next to him.
